How It Works
To determine the hardness of an item, you will first have to apply a minor load, after which you can place an extra load. Once you achieve the load size that is required, you should go back to the minor load in order to get the reference point. It is important to remember that the major load has to be held for a predetermined period so that the setup can have an elastic recovery.
